Anthony Sonnenberg encrusts bobcats with pearls and integrates gold-leaf, crystal and porcelain into scenes of flamboyant stillness.  His work vividly references the tradition of trophy hunting paired with the lavish interiors of the Rococo movement. Conceptually, Sonneberg is interested in exploring and questioning the cultural constraints that arise from forming personal identity through the lust  of objects, his interest in this subject he credits to growing up in rural Texas where the cultural norm embraced all that was hyper-masculine.
