Band In Seattle: Kingdom Crumbs

Every Saturday night at 11PM on KSTW (Channel 11 in the Emerald City), Band In Seattle broadcasts their newest episode. This week the  TV show, which features local musicians’ music and interviews, will present Kingdom Crumbs. To get a little insight into the program, we asked BIS founder Conrad Denke about what’s coming up this week.

Jake Uitti: What’s special about this week’s episode with Kingdom Crumbs?

Conrad Denke: The quartet of Tay Sean, Jerm D, Mikey Nice and Jarv Dee make up what some have called the “flyest spiritual space-funk to be found in this electronic era.” I am not generally a hip hop fan but “Kingdom Crumbs” is not your usual hip hop band. Their sound is amazing. It’s clearly complex and yet carries a beautiful simplicity that carries you right into the world they create on stage. And when you listen carefully you hear words and stories that are not your usual assembly of words that just sound good, but instead you have all that WITH a complex story that holds you waiting for the next “cool” thing they’re doing.

I was impressed with the depth of thinking that goes into the music. Each member of the band provides a crucial part to the creation of their unique sound. Each young man has a powerful and thoughtful view of life and the world and understands their role in creating entertainment. They have fun and it’s contagious. I wanted to get on stage with them and go with the flow. Fortunately for the audience I stayed off stage.

The answer isn't poetry, but rather language
