Fin Records

Seattle’s Fin Records is the home for groups like The Young Evils, Red Jacket Mine and Stag. It’s policy is to work closely with artists but not to create any lengthy, binding contracts. If the artist can get a better deal from another label down the line, then so be it. Everyone wins. The Monarch had a chance to chat with Christian Fulghum, founder of Fin Records, about the genesis of the label, growing into being a home for hip-hop artists like J Pinder and more.Â
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis World Tour vol. 4 – Andrew Joslyn

Currently we are on the road to Oslo, Norway, and just had a whirlwind tour of Eastern Europe. After our stint in the West (France, Amsterdam, Belgium), we traveled to Warsaw, Poland, where we were embraced fully by the Polish people. For the next week, we travelled through Germany from Berlin, to Stuttgart, to Dortmund, to Frankfurt, and finally to Hamburg in the north. The Germans were all incredibly nice, and accommodating, and their countryside and cities were beautiful. Once again, we were merely flash tourists and only got glorified glimpses of every city, but it was still an incredible […]

It’s a tradition now for Spek to send me a link of his newest album missing a song. This time, with his new record, Doc Watson, he texts: “That version I sent was missing one track, but it’s there now… ‘Sinner Man’.â€Â

REPORTS FROM A 4-DAY TREK ACROSS THE WESTERN INLANDS WITH SEATTLE’S CASCADIAN YOUTH TRIBE, KITHKIN Cruising through the deserted middle of Washington in the dead of night can be a dark and lonely experience, but spirits were high in the tour van, hereby dubbed The Necrovancer, as Kithkin (Bob Martin, Kelton Sears, Alex Barr and Ian McCutcheon) were setting out for their first tour since their trek to Austin, Texas for SXSW in March. Along for the ride were beloved merch slinger/spiritual guide Sherpa Joe and myself. No one was ready to sleep, all too excited to be on the […]

Campfire OK Record Release – Darren Davis
Wednesday, September 18, 2013 11:47 — 0 Comments
I last saw Campfire OK perform a summer ago, at the Crocodile, for co-front woman Melodie Knight’s final show with the band. Her departure wasn’t made public before or during the set, but the night still felt like a somber sort of celebration. Pin it on Knight’s beatific farewell energy, or the everyday melancholy of Campfire OK’s best offerings, or the white balloons that fell from the ceiling during the swan song, but something was clearly ending. And when they left the stage they left as a band in transition.Â

I write this after our second full sold out show at the O2 Arena in Dublin, Ireland, while we are on our way to take a ferry to the UK, and then drive to Brussels. We will be traveling throughout the night until we reach Belgium, which officially wraps up our leg of the European tour in the UK. In the past couple of days we rocked out in Manchester and Glasgow, and came over to the Emerald Isle 2 days ago. Â
