Three Songs To The Head vol. 37

Hello and welcome back to Three Songs to the Head where we share three songs that moved us, three songs we love, three songs we can’t get out of our heads! Today, we’re featuring Chi Turner, Greet the Sea and Chris King & The Gutterballs. Enjoy!

Sometimes you need a really smooth souled-out jam to kick the morning off and Vancouver, B.C.’s Chi Turner has just the thing for you. This track, “Am I Dreaming,” is like the moment when you put the needle down onto the record and you know moments of bliss are about to come. But on this track it happens for a good three minutes.

When I was a kid there were certain songs that, when played in the basement in a friend’s house, we could listen to over and over, encapsulated in our little dream song music world. The songs were expressive, emotive, swelling and reflective. That’s how I would describe “Take Shelter” by Greet the Sea.

Chris King is one of our favorite Seattle performers. He’s dusty. His voice is basically angelic. So stumbling on this video from Chris and the band was a real treat in this dark, rainy December. This song may or may not have been on repeat for a few days in the Monarch offices.

The answer isn't poetry, but rather language
